Hi, I'm Matt, known online as "Noktivus". I'm a Welsh freelance artist specialising in animal, wildlife and fantasy art.I work with a variety of mediums including traditional art; watercolour paints, coloured pencils and inks, and digital art; mainly procreate on the iPad pro. I also love to create needlefelt sculptures, and my main job is as a taxidermist.I have provided artwork for conventions both in the UK and abroad, zines, portfolios, websites and other collaborative projects.I am a self-taught artist but hold a BA (Hons) in Animation from Wrexham University.I currently live in Leicestershire, England, with my dear fiancé and our many pets.

I am also a taxidermist, and you can find my taxidermy work at my website Matt Martin Taxidermy.
My digital art is mostly done on a 12.9" iPad Pro, on an XP-Pen Artist 22 screen. I use Procreate and Clip Studio Paint (iPad), and Paint Tool Sai and Clip Studio Paint (PC).
My traditional artwork is done with a variety of media, including:- Sakura Micron fineliners

PAYMENT
You must be 18 years or older to order a commission. Parental permission is not accepted.
Commission work is taken through Kofi and email, when open.
Payment is taken through Paypal.
Payment is in GBP (Great British Pounds) only. The Artist does not accept any forms of cryptocurrency.
The Artist will send the Client a message confirming the order. Client must respond within 48 hours or the commission is forfeit.
The Artist will send the Client an invoice on confirmation of a commission. This begins the contract between Artist and Client.
Invoice must be paid within 24 hours, unless otherwise stated, or the commission is forfeit.
Commissions £250 or UNDER must be paid in full up front.
Commissions OVER £250 are available for payment plans with at least half the full amount paid upfront.
SUBJECT MATTER
The Artist will draw all animal species (real or fantasy), except humans. Artist will draw all body types, sexual orientations, gender identities as well as artistic nudity.
Violence, gore, and suggestive themes are permitted under the Artist's discretion.
Sexually explicit commissions are accepted under the Artist's discretion
The Artist will NOT draw illegal content or hate imagery.
The Artist retains the right to refuse any commission subject for any reason.
COMPLETION TIME
Illustrations have a 1-2 month completion time on average, depending on size, complexity, and communication.
Any custom work not listed will have a completion time agreed upon by both the Artist and Client.
If there are any delays on the Artist's end, the Client will be notified as soon as possible.
Rush orders accrue a 30% fee to the total cost.
EXTRA CHARGES
Reasons for extra charges include but are not limited to:
Extremely detailed characters (markings, hairstyles, extra limbs etc.)
Robotic parts
Complex costuming (armor etc.)
There is a 50% fee for making a commission private. This means that the commission must not be posted online anywhere by either the Artist or the Client.
PROCESS AND OWNERSHIP
The Artist will send out WIP’s in the beginning and middle of their process unless otherwise specified.
"Artistic Freedom" projects do not include WIPs unless specifically requested.
Character References include multi-step WIPs.
The Artist will not provide a full resolution file or finished preview unless full payment is received.
The Artist has the right to refuse a commission for any reason.
The Artist retains the right to display all commissioned work on any personal websites, galleries, or journals.
If the Commissioned work is a time-sensitive gift the Artist will delay public showcase at the request of the Client.
The Artist retains all rights to the Commissioned artwork, including the right to make prints and merchandise, and to alter the commissioned work to make it more generic for print at the Artist’s discretion.
This will always be discussed and agreed upon with the Client prior to any printing or sales
The Artist may recycle sketches and preparatory works that were rejected by the Client for other commissions or personal works.
The Client retains all rights to any depicted characters they own.
The Client may resize or crop the artwork to create icons, wallpapers, or other graphics to be used in non-commercial format, but the Client cannot alter the artwork itself.
The Client may upload the artwork to their personal website and/or gallery accompanied by a credit line to the Artist, and it must not be any unwatermarked version of the artwork.
The Client may print the artwork for personal display.
The Client does NOT have the right to remove the watermark, or claim the illustration as their own.
The Client does NOT have the right to resell or redistribute the illustration in any way, unless otherwise stated or agreed upon.
Image rights can be negotiated for an added fee.
The Client does NOT have the right to use any AI Image Generation to edit the artwork.
EDITS
The Artist will NOT edit a completed image if provided an outdated/inaccurate reference. Any new references provided in the sketch and/or lineart phase is permitted.
Major pose fixes are allowed only in the sketch stage.
The Artist allows minor edits to a finished work. Any major edits will accrue additional fees of £30/hr.
REFUNDS
Refund policy is as follows:
If the Client wishes to cancel a commission before work begins, the client will receive a 100% refund.
If the Client cancels a commission slot more than once in a short period of time, the Artist has the right to add them to a Client black list.
In the event of Client cancellation during the sketch/thumbnail stage phase, a 50% refund of original payment will be issued. No refund will be issued if the Client cancels during the color stage, or after the commission is complete.
If the Artist cancels the commission for any reason, 100% of the original commission payment in GBP will be refunded to the Client.
The Artist reserves the right to cancel a commission and issue a refund due to poor communication, rude or inappropriate behaviour, inability to communicate in clear/effective English, finding out that the client engages in illegal activities, or unforeseen inability to complete the commission.
CONCERNING AI
The Artist will never use any AI image generation at any point in the artmaking process.
The Artist will not accept any AI generated images provided by the Client as reference.
If the Client has knowingly provided AI images, the Artist may cancel the commission.

P-Chan from the anime/manga series Ranma 1/2. He has been made entirely with needle felting.




The pokémon Wooloo. This sculpture was created mainly with needle felting. The horns are made with black FIMO clay and there's a wire amarture inside, making her fully posable!
